Dana John
Licensed Master Social Worker
Hello! I’m Dana John, a Licensed Master Social Worker and Therapist in Texas. I strive to create a welcoming, affirming space where you can show up as your full self. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. Together, we can explore your unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals while working toward what feels meaningful and possible for you. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and other approaches depending on your individual needs. I often work with teens, young adults, LGBTQIA+ folks, and neurodivergent individuals. I have experience helping those navigating neurodiversities including ADHD and autism, questions of identity, anxiety, disability, relationships, systemic adversity, and other experiences that can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself. I became a therapist because I value the opportunity to walk alongside people during some of the most challenging, transformative, and meaningful parts of their lives. What I enjoy most about this work is getting to know each person as an individual and witnessing the moments when someone gains a new understanding of themselves, recognizes a strength they hadn’t seen before, or begins to imagine possibilities that once felt out of reach. It is a privilege to be invited into that process, and I never take that trust for granted. Most importantly, I want you to feel that there is room for you here. My hope is that you leave our work with a greater sense of self-understanding, self-compassion, and the ability to make choices that feel true to who you are. Outside of therapy, I’m a creative person who enjoys painting, pottery, and finding other ways to bring art and play into my life. I also enjoy spending time with loved ones, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and board games. I believe that the things that bring us connection, creativity, and joy can help shape the lives we want to create.

Licensed Master Social Worker
Let’s invest in a healthier you! I work with adults and couples who are navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma and PTSD, and relationship challenges. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, processing painful experiences, or hoping to strengthen your relationship, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, and create meaningful change. My approach is warm, professional, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be more than a place where you talk about your week, it should be a space where you feel genuinely understood while also being challenged and given the resources to grow. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviors influence the way you see yourself, relate to others, and navigate life. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Christian Counseling. I tailor our work to your individual needs, goals, values, and experiences rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. With couples, I utilize research-backed Gottman Therapy to help partners better understand one another, improve communication, navigate conflict, and build a stronger connection. One of the things I value most about being a therapist is witnessing people discover that change is possible. I became a therapist because I believe people have the capacity to heal, grow, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients during some of life’s most challenging moments and support them as they move toward greater confidence, connection, and fulfillment. If this feels overwhelming, do not worry I am here for you! You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. If you’re ready to better understand yourself, improve your relationships, and move toward meaningful change, I am here to support you.
