"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations."-Anais Nin

Anxiety Treatment

At Texas Wellness Therapy, I understand the impact anxiety can have on your life. It can trap us in emotional thinking, leading to catastrophic or all-or-nothing patterns that often result in impulsive reactions and self-sabotaging behaviors. These responses are rooted in the brain’s threat detection system—the limbic system—which activates when we perceive danger, whether real or imagined.

The limbic system, particularly the amygdala, plays a central role in the fight-or-flight response. When it's overactivated by chronic stress or unresolved trauma, it can overwhelm the parts of the brain responsible for logic, planning, and emotional regulation. This is why anxiety can feel so intense and hard to control.

My approach is designed to help you shift from these maladaptive, fear-driven responses—whether inherited, learned, or developed over time—toward more adaptive ways of thinking, feeling, and coping. Through this work, you'll learn to manage uncertainty more effectively, regulate your nervous system, and regain control.

I offer a supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and manage anxiety using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness techniques.

Depression Treatment

Depression can feel overwhelming, but its impacts don’t have to define you. My approach combines compassionate care with evidence-based treatments, using science to explore the biological drives behind your depression. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and narrative therapy, we’ll work together to understand these roots and actively reshape the stories you tell yourself—empowering you to reclaim your sovereignty and reorient the course of your life.

When the nervous system becomes overloaded, it can shut us down—often at the worst possible times—as a way of demanding that we pay attention to unmet needs. In therapy, we’ll work together to uncover and process the underlying experiences, emotions, and core beliefs contributing to your depression. At the same time, I’ll help you build the skills to recognize when symptoms arise and respond with adaptive, supportive strategies.

Using a range of evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness techniques—we’ll work collaboratively to reduce symptoms and support your recovery.

Trauma Recovery

Recovering from trauma is a courageous undertaking, and I am here to provide consistent, transformational support. My trauma-informed approach is tailored to your unique experiences, guiding healing at your pace and empowering you to move forward with resilience. Your treatment plan will be adapted to your stress tolerance and personal rhythm—I understand how exhausting it can be to process painful memories. I will never rush you or push you to explore topics before you're ready.

I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a well-researched and effective therapy for trauma across diverse populations. When a traumatic event occurs, the brain can disconnect from the nervous system, trapping unprocessed experiences in the body. This can lead to residual distress—such as intrusive images, overwhelming emotions, physical reactivity, distorted thinking, and negative core beliefs.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to engage both hemispheres of the brain, supporting the reintegration of language, emotional regulation, and memory. This process activates the brain's natural healing mechanisms. As the nervous system and brain begin to reconnect, people often find a renewed sense of self, clarity, and relief.

Unresolved trauma can lead to ongoing emotional, physical, and cognitive challenges—but it doesn't have to stay this way forever. It’s not about forgetting—it’s about reprocessing the memory so your body and mind no longer feel stuck in it. EMDR helps shift the memory to its rightful place in the past, giving your nervous system the space and time to recover.

Individual Therapy

It’s not easy to be completely honest and vulnerable with someone. Individual therapy offers a confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences at your own pace. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, stress, or major life transitions, therapy provides an opportunity to build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward lasting personal growth.

Through one-on-one sessions, you'll gain insight into your patterns and develop coping strategies tailored to your unique needs. This process empowers you to make meaningful changes, improve your mental well-being, and create a more fulfilling life.

My approach blends the science of Clinical Neurobiology with the depth of Jungian Psychology and evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Bowen’s Family Systems Theory, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based practices.

As your therapist, my goal is to equip you with the tools to manage everyday stressors, process the experiences that have shaped you, and help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and renewed self-trust.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy offers a meaningful opportunity to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection. I help partners navigate conflict, process unresolved resentment, and reconnect in ways that feel authentic and supportive. In the face of life’s challenges, many relationships slip into autopilot.

Over time, partners may begin to neglect each other’s needs—often unintentionally—and rely on old survival strategies like shutting down or withholding emotions out of fear, insecurity, or past hurt. These patterns can lead to disconnection and resentment.

In our work together, I provide a safe and balanced space where both partners feel heard, seen, and validated. Through guided conversations and practical tools, we’ll work toward restoring intimacy, building emotional safety, and cultivating a relationship that supports each of you.

Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence is a time of exploration, growth, and emotional intensity. I provide a safe, supportive space for adolescents to express themselves, build coping skills, and develop emotional resilience as they navigate this important stage of life.

Because young people often lack the words to express complex feelings, I incorporate play and art therapy to help them externalize emotions and experiences in ways that feel natural and accessible. As therapy progresses, I introduce evidence-based interventions that help them better understand their internal world, recognize emotional cues in their bodies, and respond with healthy, adaptive skills.

It's essential to build a strong sense of self during these formative years. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help youth challenge negative thought patterns, reinforce positive beliefs, and build confidence in their abilities. My sessions are tailored to each adolescent’s learning style, personality, and interests, making mental health exploration both engaging and meaningful.

Adolescence is a time of adventure, and therapy should keep pace with that same spirit. I draw from a range of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and mindfulness techniques, to create a personalized and effective path toward well-being.
